2. Condition & Eligibility
Unused Status: Items must be returned in original, unused condition in their original packaging.
No Alterations: Returns are not accepted for items that have been trimmed, edged, or written on.
Custom Decks: Custom orders (including specific lamination) are non-returnable.
Cancellations (UK/EU): Cancellations are accepted within 24 hours. If already dispatched, the item must be returned unopened.
3. IMPORTANT: Casino-Style Shuffling Warning
Our decks are premium 350 GSM art paper products, often featuring lamination or glitter finishes. They are not casino-grade plastic-core gaming cards.
Riffle Shuffling/Bridging: "Casino-style" shuffling is strictly prohibited. This technique involves bending the cards, which causes immediate and irreversible creasing, structural fatigue, and damage to the lamination/glitter.
Policy: Damage caused by riffle shuffling or bridging is classified as intentional misuse. We will not accept returns or offer refunds for cards that show signs of being bent or shuffled in this manner.
The Life of a Deck: Understanding Manufacturing vs. Usage Wear
1. The "Riffle Smile" (Mechanical Fiber Fatigue)
Cardstock is a multi-layered composite (often a core of black or blue paper between two printable layers). When a deck is "Riffled" or "Bridged," the paper fibers are forcibly stretched and compressed.
The Science: Once these fibers snap, the card loses its "memory" (the ability to stay flat) and develops a permanent curve, commonly known as a "smile."
Our Policy: Curvature or "bowing" is a direct result of mechanical stress applied during shuffling. Because this requires physical force to occur, it is categorized as user-wear and is not a manufacturing defect.
2. Humidity & "S-Warping" (Atmospheric Absorption)
Paper is hygroscopic, meaning it absorbs moisture from the air.
The Science: In high humidity, the edges of the card expand faster than the center, causing the card to twist into a wave or "S-curve." In very dry climates, cards may "cup" inward.
Our Policy: Environmental warping is a natural reaction of paper products to the buyer's local climate or storage conditions (e.g., near a window, bathroom, or humidifier). We do not offer warranties for climate-related changes occurring after delivery.
3. Edge Delamination & "Flicking"
The Science: Professional tarot cards often have a protective varnish or laminate. Impact-shuffling (hitting the edges of cards together) causes microscopic chips. Frequent "flicking" of the cards with the thumb creates localized dents or creases on the short edge.
Our Policy: Factory-damaged edges are consistent across all 78 cards. Random or localized edge wear is a sign of manual handling and is not covered under our return policy.
4. Postal Damage Claims
If an item arrives damaged, you must provide the following on the day of delivery:
Time-stamped photos of the product damage.
Photos of the packaging (essential for Royal Mail claims).
Note: Because paper is fragile, we cannot honor claims made after the day of receipt, as we cannot distinguish between transit damage and subsequent user wear.
5. Product Care & Appearance
· Artisanal Nature: These are small-batch art products. Minor surface artifacts—such as light "roller marks" from the printing press or micro-variances in lamination—are a natural part of the professional printing process for 350 GSM stock. These are not considered defects and do not constitute a "damaged" product.
Tarot Bags: Do not use scissors to open parcels; accidental fabric cuts are not eligible for replacement.
Color Variance: Slight differences may occur due to monitor settings. Our photos are unedited; we are not responsible for the appearance of cards in filtered or "enhanced" third-party social media videos.
· Social Media: We are not responsible for the appearance of cards in filtered or "enhanced" third-party videos.
· UV Decks: Blacklight is used in photography for demonstration purposes only.
6. Shipping Addresses
We ship only to the address provided by PayPal. Please ensure your details are current; a re-shipping fee will apply if an item is returned due to an incorrect address.
🎴 Caring for Your Tarot Collectibles
Artistry in Every Card
Thank you for choosing a deck co-authored by James Battersby and Christine Aguiar. Because these are artisanal products and not mass-produced gaming cards, they require specific care to maintain their beauty and longevity.
The "No Riffle" Rule
Our decks are crafted from premium 350 GSM art paper and finished with specialty lamination or glitter.
Avoid Casino-Style Shuffling: Do not "riffle shuffle" or "bridge" these cards. This technique is designed for plastic-core gaming cards and will cause immediate creasing and structural damage to art stock.
Recommended Shuffling: We suggest overhand shuffling or fanning (washing) the cards. This preserves the integrity of the lamination and prevents edge wear.
Handle with Care
Environmental Factors: As these are paper-based products, keep them away from high humidity and direct sunlight to prevent warping or fading.
Opening Your Parcel: If you purchased a silk or fabric tarot bag, please do not use scissors to open the packaging, as this can easily snag or cut the material.
Returns Note
Please remember that cards showing signs of riffle shuffling, bridging, or any user alterations (trimming/edging) are considered misused and are ineligible for return or exchange.
